(SPOILER WARNING!!! This article does contain spoilers, if you haven’t seen the movie, just see the first paragraph to be informed without spoilers!!!)

Sex Tape is definitely a movie with a lot of random moments that were for the better or the worst in this movie, storyline very thin and formulaic and not every moment was that funny, but at least I wasn’t bored. Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars.

One thing about both Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel is that they are both likable popular actors. They are both very humble and very down to Earth. People you can relate, especially in their movies they act in. They are funny on and off the camera. It’s no coincidence that they would be paired up in a movie. It just seems right. I hoped this comedy it would be something special, and I was kind of right. I will start with what I liked, to the so so, to what I didn’t like.

What I liked the beginning of this movie had a lot of potential. With Cameron Diaz playing, Annie, who was blogging about what most people go through in marriage, lack of sex. What she wrote was spot on truth, in my opinion, and people can relate. With that she has the opportunity to sell her blog and become a face to a company. I thought this movie might have a lesson about relationships, but it took a turn for the worst (more on that later). The movie had some random funny moments, most notably Jason Segel, playing Jay, fighting with the German Shepard was pretty funny, and Annie meeting her potential buyer at his house, played by Rob Lowe. Funny thing about Rob Lowe in this movie about a sex tape, I found out after the movie which makes more sense, is that he was in a controversial sex tape himself. So seeing him acting all random with the heavy metal and hip hop music playing, pictures of himself as certain Disney characters, and snorting cocaine, it was funny in a random sort of way. In my opinion, the best scene of the movie. The Jack Black cameo was random and hilarious as well as he was acting as the owner of YouPorn.

The so so, a lot of those random moments weren’t that funny. In some cases obnoxious, especially when kids are involved. With all that said, at least the movie wasn’t boring, even though I learned that there are a lot of famous porn sites in the Internet. I’m sure one reason guys went to see the movie (which includes myself) is too see Cameron Diaz naked (yes I’m a perv, don’t judge me). However, I was slightly disappointed. (Here comes my best Mr. Skin impression.) You get some pretty nice view of Diaz’s rear, but you do not see her breasts at all. So for the breasts guys, it is a drag. Now for the two likable characters in Diaz and Segel, you do see moments of good chemistry between them, but some moments are really awkward as well and unfortunately it showed in the movie. As for the sex tape itself, a little disappointing. I mean nobody wants to see Segel’a butt doing a headstand naked. We saw enough of his penis in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Also add Rob Corddry and Elle Kemper in the mix playing another married couple, Robbie and Tess, you create even more awkward moments. To much awkward moment in a comedy creates awkwardness that you don’t want to see or hear in a movie.

What I didn’t like, first off this movie was a product placement heaven, especially for Apple products. Talking about IPads, ICloud, IPhones, and everything else for Apple. All porn sites got a shout out thanks to Jack Black’s cameo. There were many others as well, and you can tell that they purposely put a lot of product placement that it was pathetic. Might as well call the movie ISex Tape. Also the part with the kid blackmailing Jay, and in the end he have in cuz he wants to chill with Jay’s son. That was too childish, and almost idiotic for an ending. The ending of this movie was very weak which was disappointing, cuz it had a potential beginning.

Overall, if you into Apple products and porn, this is your movie. If you want to laugh, this might be mildly amusing. If you want to see a good movie, don’t bother. At least for me I find it mildly amusing!!! Final Rating 3 out of 5 Stars.

(Sidenote- I, Frankenstein: Judging from the title I knew it wasn’t going to be that good. The story of this movie is very formulaic, and off tuned from the story of Frankenstein’s lore. Probably the worst movie I’ve seen with Aaron Eckhart in it as a powerful and strong Frankenstein fighting off demons out to destroy the world. This is just as horrible as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer only with worse CGI graphics. I guess goth people will like this movie while hating the real world. Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Stars.)
