The Space Between started as an interesting sci-fi premise, but in the end, it is predictable, dumb, and an eye rolling teen romance!!!

Rating: 2.5 Stars

What I Like:

-Interesting sci-fi premise which kept me engaged

-The writing at the beginning was well thought out and felt credible in regards to space travel and human biology

The So So:

-Acting was subpar, but good enough

-Dialogue at times was funny, but other times too cheesy

What I Didn’t Like:

-As the story continued it became a dumb romance

-The teen romance was so corny, eye rolling and cliche

-The twist ending was predictable and very underwhelming

Overall: It started off smart and interesting, but it seemed that the writers gave up in the end and turned it into a typical and dumb teen romance story. Many scenes were just too cheesy for me to bear, with the twist that really didn’t affect me whatsoever. Maybe some pre-teens will enjoy this, but that is because they don’t know any better. Everybody else will roll their eyes, and wait for the credits to roll!!!

(Sidenote: Jackie- I give credit to the superb acting of the beautiful Natalie Portman, and the recreation of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. However, it was so boring seeing the life of Jackie Kennedy after the assassination, that pretty much made me not care about her emotional problems and things she had to endure. Which is a shame because I admire Jackie Kennedy in real life!!!

(Sidenote: Hell or High Water- It is an entertaining heist film in the wild West of today. Some great chemistry between Chris Pine and Ben Foster as brothers who were robbing banks to save their family ranch. I also enjoyed Jeff Bridges as a Texas Marshall chasing them with his funny dialogue and sarcasm. The only thing is that for me it really brought nothing new to this genre. With that said, it is still a fun watch, but I don’t see why it received a lot of Oscar hype!!!
