John Wick: Chapter 2 you get more of the same from the first movie, great action, subpar story!!!

Rating: 3.5 Stars

What I Like: 

-Action was great with no shaky cameras, which I appreciate, just pure choreographed action.

-Loved the beginning and ending action scenes, and some of the brutal fight scenes that can make you cringe.

The So So:

-You get the same thing from the first film, so if you love it, you will love this film, if you don’t, you will not like it.

What I Didn’t Like:

-Story was subpar, more or less like the first film with some minor twists in the end.

-The ending was purposefully open ended to set up a third film, which I hate when films do that.

Overall:

As I said before, you get more of the same from the first film with great choreographed action, artistic scenes, but a not so great story. If you are a fan, definitely check it out, if not, don’t bother. As for me, it was decent with the same reaction I got from the first. Hopefully, the next film will close some loopholes they left from this film!!!

(Sidenote: Mr. Church- Eddie Murphy returns in a dramatic role as a guy hired to care for a mother and daughter family where the mother is suffering from terminal cancer. It shows the relationship with the daughter growing over the past years. It is sort of a feel good movie, but I feel Murphy’s character as Mr. Church was really underdeveloped by making him too mysterious and not giving a proper conclusion to his life. The story was a cliched, tear jerker wannabe!!!  Rating: 3 Stars)
