The Great Wall had a weak story, terrible dialogue, and subpar CGI, at least it had some semi good battles, key word, some!!!
Rating: 2.5 Stars
What I Like:
-Some of the battle scenes were cool to watch, very colorful, and at times unique, most notably the first battle scene
-The comedic chemistry between Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal
The So So:
-The battle scenes can be really good, or really crappy with their CGI
What I Didn’t Like:
-Story was formulaic and cliched
-Dialogue was just plain terrible and corny
-The final battle scene was just plain dumb
Overall:
The film could’ve had potential, but really failed with their subpar CGI effects. Add to the fact that the story and dialogue was eye rollingly bad. Some battle scenes were cool, but in the end, I believe it was a wasted role for Matt Damon!!!

(Sidenote: Split- Had to check out what was all the fuss about with this film. I agree when it comes to the thrilling parts, it is M. Night Shyalaman at his best. Same goes with the great acting by James McAvoy as person with many different personalities. However, some of the dialogue talking about psychology can get a little boring. With that said, the Shyalaman twist in the end, can really get you giddy!!!

(Sidenote: Light’s Out- To continue on watching the year of horror films this particular one reminded me of the classics. With an interesting monster, and some jump scares. With all of that, to me, it brought nothing new to the table in regards to suspenseful horror. Maybe I’m just so over horror movies, that I can’t appreciate a good one!!!
