Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is another enjoyable ride, and a good sequel, some things are better, some things are not better, but entertaining nonetheless!!!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

What I Like:

-The action scenes were awesome, and has to be seen in 3D
-I really enjoyed the opening scene with Baby Groot going around the fighting area while the rest of the team fights the big monster
-Baby Groot is adorable
-Drax’s stupidity had me laughing
-Some scenes were emotionally stringer than its predecessor (more on that in the SPOILER Thread)

The So So:

-The comedy took a small step back from the first movie, but it was still pretty hilarious to watch, only at times, it seemed a bit forced

What I Didn’t Like:

-Sylvester Stallone’s character (Stakard Ogord) didn’t leave much of an impact
-I also thought the soundtrack was a major step back as well, not as powerful as in the first one

SPOILER THREAD (Don’t read if you haven’t seen it):

-Even though I called it that Kurt Russell’s character (Ego), Peter Quill’s father, was going to be the villain, I still enjoyed his villainy and understood his purpose
-The ending with Yondu’s death and funeral really packed more of an emotional punch than the first film did, it elevated the quality of this movie
-The mid credit scenes and after credits scenes were pretty funny, and one scene had me excited to see Adam Warlock coming to the MCU

-A little disappointed that there weren’t scenes that really affected the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not even a Thanos glimpse, only a mention

Overall:

If you’re a fan of the first film, you will like this film too. As I said before, it is funny, entertaining, thrilling, and thought-provoking for better or worse. Regardless, it is a fun ride. It continues to show that the Marvel Cinematic Universe really knows how to make good films no matter how different or peculiar they are. Up next is Spider-Man: Homecoming which I’m really looking forward to. Also, the DC Universe better bring it with Wonder Woman for the sake of not being the laughing stock again!!!
