Wonder Woman is so far the best that the DC Extended Universe has to offer, a great origin story with great action that exceeds my expectations!!!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

What I Like:

-The origin story was great with very good character development for Diana in becoming Wonder Woman
-Gal Gadot acted splendidly and giving that extra depth in Diana’s character
-The action was awesome, especially that battle scene where Wonder Woman saved a small town was purely epic
-Chris Pine as Steve Trevor was pretty good providing comic relief, and decent chemistry with Gal Gadot

The So So:

-Not enough references for Batman, Superman, Flash, etc., (maybe a little bit of Batman), however, that is most likely a good thing to make Wonder Woman at its own which it desperately needs

What I Didn’t Like:

-At the beginning where Diana lives in Themyscira, and meets up with Steve Trevor sparking her to go to battle in World War I felt a little rushed

SPOILER THREAD (Don’t read if you haven’t seen it):

-The twist where Sir Patrick Morgan, played by David Thewlis, was actually the villain Ares really created that epic final scene. This was the moment where it made Wonder Woman who know today, and her goal while living on Earth. It also shows her true potential power in defeating the god of war, and really made that action very spectacular.

Overall:

Wonder Woman has exceeded my expectations, and I hope this is the start of a big turn around for the DC Extended Universe. (Even though I don’t have faith for the Justice League movie.) It was a great origin story, with awesome action, adds a lot of depth to the character, and had some comedic moments. I’m really glad this is successful for, and it gives me hope that DC can make a good movie!!!

Baywatch (Sidenote: Monster Trucks)

Baywatch may be the typical dumb story, but at least it had a few more laughs than expected!!!

Rating: 3 Stars

What I Like:

-There were some humorous moments that actually made me laugh, and the blooper scenes at the credits are pretty funny as well
-The action scenes were pretty cool for the most part

The So So:

-Priyanka Chopra playing the villain Victoria Leeds is a breathe of fresh air to see a woman playing an antagonist that is in charge of the drug dealing even though her character is very cliched for a drug dealer

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story was very typical and to be quite honest really dumb even for cliched action story stnadards
-Some of the comedy was too raunchy for my liking which really took away any of the myths of the Baywatch TV show
-Zac Efron still plays a douche

SPOILER THREAD (Don’t read if you haven’t seen it):

-The cameos of original Baywatch stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson didn’t make sense to me. Mainly because their cameos are from the original TV show, but in the movie their characters are being played by other actors. So it really didn’t make any sense to me whatsoever, and made their cameos which was expected very dumb.

Overall:

If you’re expecting to be nostalgic over the TV show, prepare to be disappointed, because it is nothing like it. If you’re coming into this for the laughs in this comedy, you may be mildly disappointed. If you’re coming to watch a masterpiece, you may not want to waste your time. For this film, it is a typical action movie only with lifeguards. For a comedy, it was all right. I had a few laughs, but that’s about it. At the very least, it was what I expected!!!

(Sidenote: Monster Trucks- (The first for 2017) I didn’t have great expectations before watching it, and it pretty much met my low expectations. I give it credit for special effects and action with the monster and the truck action sequence. However, the story was too juvenile, and really typical. Nothing really spectacular in watching this.
