Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, is it way too juvenile? Yes, it is. Is it funny and entertaining? Yes, it is!!!

Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-The story was actually a well-thought story that not only kids will enjoy, but adults as well with a good lesson of about life and responsibility in the end
-The voice casting was perfect, especially with Kevin Hart and Thomas Middleditch playing best friends George and Harold, they had good chemistry with one another
-The villain, Professor Poopypants, voiced by Nick Kroll, is unique and fun

The So So:

-The comedy is way too juvenile with so much toilet humor. However, it was cleverly written and it felt funny and appropriate, I was laughing throughout the film
-The animation took some time to get used to, but once you do, it is actually very fresh

What I Didn’t Like:

-The third act is a little thinned out, and it made it too over the top for my liking, but maybe I’m just being nit picky

Overall:

I really didn’t know what to expect when I came to watch this movie, because I’m not familiar with the comics. Once it got started, I just enjoyed it to the end. For me, it is a good family movie, even with the toilet humor. It is a pleasant surprise for me once it was all said and done!!!
