Transformers: The Last Knight (Sidenote: The Comedian)

If you want to hear more of my review on this film, check out my video blog, and subscribe to Real Movie Critic on YouTube:

Transformers: The Last Knight may have a confusing and typical storyline, but if you want great action of robot aliens battling each other, you definitely get a good dose of that!!!

Rating: 3 Stars

What I Like:

-The special effects and detail is fascinating to watch, there is a lot of hard work putting into these films, and it is really what Michael Bay does best
-I just enjoy seeing the good old battle of Optimus Prime and Megatron, to me, it is always  entertaining, and shows why Optimus Prime will reign supreme as an ultimate hero

The So So:

-The comedy was hit or miss, when it hit, I was laughing, when it missed, it was either too corny, or it wouldn’t be a Michael Bay movie without sexual innuendos which are getting kind of old

What I Didn’t Like:

-It seems like the story for Transformers is getting worse and worse, and for this film it is no different, it runs a typical story of Autobots and Decepticons trying to find an artifact, and then duke it out using the power of the artifact, it gets old very quick
-This story was also a little confusing in figuring out what they have to do to stop the end of the world
-Once again the film was way too long which almost had me getting exhausted, not as much as the last film, but bad enough for me to realize that it is way to long
-The girl, Izabella, played by Isabela Moner, really didn’t pertain to the story whatsoever, and was not needed

Yes, it has all the issues that people have with the Transformers franchise, but it also has the great things that people love about it as well. I really love the special effects and action this film gives us, and at the very least it was enjoyable for me in that regard. I believe the true fans of this franchise will get hat they want, but for me, it is a mediocre movie at best, and I hope this is the end. (Though, if it continues to make money, that is not possible!!!)

(Sidenote: The Comedian- This films stars Robert De Niro as a stand up comedian who has fallen off and at his tail end of his career. It is a drama/comedy of some sorts, but for a drama, I thought it was too boring and run of the mill. As a comedy, it was not funny for me. I thought the jokes were way too crude, even for a stand up comedian standards, and not even the great Robert De Niro can save this film. It is so far, the worst movie I have seen yet this year!!!
