Spider-Man: Homecoming is a fun and hilarious film which Spider-Man is supposed to be, even if the action is not as great as the other films portraying this legendary hero!!!

What I Like:

-The comedy in this film was hilarious, I was laughing from beginning to end, and that’s how Spider-Man is suppose to be
-I loved how they tied in a good portion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), into this movie, and shows the after effects after The Avengers movie
-Tom Holland as Spider-Man was exceptional, and loved how he is character developed as a high school student making mistakes as a teenager and a superhero
-Michael Keaton as the villain, Vulture, was awesome seeing him acting great as he usually does, and making the Vulture a cool and grounded character to the story
-Jacob Batalon playing Peter Parker’s friend, Ned Leeds, provided some hilarious comic relief, and was a fun character
-Loved seeing the chemistry between Spider-Man and Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., almost like the father and son complex

The So So:

-Tony Revolori playing Flash Thompson was different, he wasn’t a straight up punch for punch bully, but more of a conceited jerk which is bullying nowadays, and I didn’t get to see enough of that for Flash to make an impact for Peter Parker

What I Didn’t Like:

-The action was a little underwhelming for me, it wasn’t as good as it’s predecessors, but good enough to make it watchable, but I was expecting more action
-The final action scene was too dark for me to follow, and I hate it when films do that
-Zendaya playing a form of MJ, really didn’t do it for me, I prefer the red headed spunky girl, but maybe I’m nitpicky

Overall:

I really enjoyed this incantation of Spider-Man, but for very different reasons. I enjoyed it more for the very well character developed story that this hero desperately needed. The story in general was good by adapting to the previous stories and events of prior MCU films, and showing how it affected for future films. This Spider-Man had some great writing. Even though the action wasn’t what I expected, the comedy was so on point and up to par with Guardians of the Galaxy. This film proves once again that the MCU know what they’re doing, and still remain supreme in comic book movies, and I’m looking forward to the sequels to Spider-Man and other endeavors!!!
