Dunkirk is a cool war survivor film, but the risks Chris Nolan took didn’t quite do it for me, regardless, his direction made this film watchable!!!
Rating: 4 Stars
What I Like:
-Chris Nolan’s direction was awesome as usual, especially the grounded action with no CGI whatsoever, which gives it a cool realistic touch
-Some scenes were very thrilling, and hearing that watch clicking creates tension
-The soundtrack was tremendous to listen to
The So So:
-Farrier, played by Tom Hardy, had a cool story on how he became a hero in this story, however, after his heroics, I didn’t like how his story ended with the German army taking him captive, because I want to know what happened to him
What I Didn’t Like:
-Nolan took a risk in his writing by keeping the dialogue minimal. it may work for some people, but for me, it created a lot of lagging which sometimes made me lose my attention
-It had three different stories of three different characters, because of that Nolan made the three stories not in linear order, because of that, I was confused in really what’s going on
Overall:
You do get Chris Nolan at his finest with his direction and realistic special effects. However, this time around I thought his writing risks were too risky for me and made me lose my focus, With that said, the story and the acting was still pretty good, and made this film watchable. It is a cool war survivor story, with its flaws!!!

(Sidenote: xXx: Return of Xander Cage- I’m not a big fan of the previous films, especially the second one. For this one, it return its likeness like the first film with Vin Diesel returning as xXx. I enjoyed the grounded action, however, the story was a typical action story with a very predictable ending. I guess for fans, they will enjoy it!!!
