Suburbicon really tried to be unique, instead, it was a mess that not even the best in film couldn’t clean up, and that makes it disappointing!!!

What I Like:
-Director George Clooney really tried to make this a unique watch, I enjoyed the late 50’s setting with the music and things that made it cool to watch
-Oscar Isaac comes in for a brief moment, and really nails his role very well as an insurance fraud investigator
The So So:
-The story really started off with a lot of intrigue as a mob-ish type, and with a subplot of racial tension in a so called peaceful neighborhood, however, with all the interest, it really didn’t satisfy in the end with an underwhelming ending, huge loopholes, and hatable characters
What I Didn’t Like:
-For a film that not only starred Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, and Oscar Isaac, direction from George Clooney, and written by the Cohen Brothers, you really expected some thing good at the very least, but this was an underwhelming disappointment with no point into why this story is unraveling the way it did
-If this was also suppose to be a comedy, it failed miserably
Overall:
With all the intrigue I saw while watching the trailer, I really expected it to be something really good and worthy. The mess with a useless subplot really made this unwatchable and not caring how this ended. Even with me not caring, they really didn’t try hard to end it well, and had me just shaking my head in disappointment. I expect better from these A list film stars and writers, and hopefully it is just a one time mistake!!!

(Sidenote: A Family Man- This film had all the cliches in a family drama which really made this subpar. At least for the emotional effect, it made it somewhat tolerable. It seems that Gerard Butler can’t catch a break in making a good film, and for this role, he was unlikable even though his dramatic acting was somewhat good!!!

(Sidenote: Rough Night- With a cast like this, you expect something decently good. With that said, it looked like a wannabe of The Hangover, Bridesmaids, and a touch of Weekend at Bernie’s. Let alone that the comedy was not funny whatsoever, it was just eye rollingly crude and unnecessary. I expected a lot better than a bad Australian accent by Kate McKinnon!!!
