Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is one crazy movie with great acting that deals with themes of overcoming grief and revenge!!!

Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-The best part about this movie is the acting, Frances McDormand puts on a great performance as a woman making a statement against the police who hasn’t made an arrest after a year when her daughter was raped and murdered, she really made this movie a good spectacle to watch with her strong yet sad emotion that really makes it unique
-Sam Rockwell as Officer Jason Dixon also puts a great performance as a pretty idiotic cop which leads to some comic relief in this black comedy, his character is not likable, yet his comedic and emotional performance that will make you have mixed feelings of whether his character is genuine person or not

The So So:

-The story is crazy in regards to the different turn of events that is happening once those billboards were put up, it dealt with themes of grief, recovery, and revenge which made it good in certain scenes, however, the lack of a main point really didn’t give the story justice that it deserves

What I Didn’t Like:

-The ending I really didn’t like, it didn’t give me a sense of closure, especially on how all the things went down, instead, it left me wondering, what will happen next
-For a film, that has political undertones about police brutality, I thought it didn’t give the issue any justice whatsoever, it focused more on character, which was good, but it still ends without a strong statement on the social issue it was set on
-The accents for a small town city in Missouri really did not felt authentic too me, it just sounded straight up weird for certain actors

Overall:

The worthwhile thing about this film is the acting, especially by Frances McDormand, i’m sure it will get some Oscar buzz. The story focuses on themes that can develop into good emotional scenes, but the craziness of the escalation of certain things really just made it a little bit too crazy for my liking. It missed a huge shot to make a powerful statement, and to me that is disappointing. With that said, it is still a good watch when you have the chance!!!
