Call Me by Your Name is a love story, a story I don’t really care about!!!
Rating: 2.5 Stars
What I Like:
-The cinematography was awesome showing the floral and fauna of Northern Italy
-I like how the story is very down to Earth
The So So:
-The acting of Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer were pretty good, but I just don’t get why they were Oscar worthy because I didn’t see anything really extraordinary from either of them
What I Didn’t Like:
-It was a story where I ask myself, “Why should I care?” I didn’t really care for this love story, and that is mainly because it was boring, nothing thrilling, emotional, or powerful, nothing that really makes me care about these characters whatsoever
Overall:
I believe this film has the case of overratedness because of the Oscar hype. I just didn’t feel this film brought anything new or unique to the table. It is a grounded love story, but that is all that there is, and not only was I bored, I just didn’t care for it. It may have some minor moments in cinematography, but that is really all I give it credit for. This film is just proof how mediocre the Oscar nominated films are this year for my taste!!!

(Sidenote: The Snowman- You would think a mystery thriller featuring Michael Fassbender would be awesome right? Man this film was the complete opposite for what I was expecting. The story was not only boring, but confusing, and it really didn’t keep me well engaged. In the end, I was just glad that everything is over, and I can move on from this rare mystery thriller bore. At least they have cool shots of Norway in the winter!!!
