The Commuter started of intriguing, but once it hits the climax, it is the same old action thriller and somewhat boring!!!

Rating: 3 Stars

What I Like:

-I was intrigued with the premise, and seeing where this story idea will go, it kept me engaged for half of the film
-Liam Neeson is what you expect with a film starring him, an action film with a lot of fighting and special effects

The So So:

-Nothing, it was a love hate thing with this movie

What I Didn’t Like:

-The twists it gives were very underdeveloped and underwhelming, it didn’t really give a shock factor that a thriller type of movie should
-The character for Liam Neeson, Michael MacCauley, wasn’t that well developed of a character, once the story rushed into it, we have to ask should we really care about him, instead I was just interested to see what will happen, and with that said, I wasn’t satisfied in the end
-The special effects looked very subpar and somewhat cheesy

Overall:

I was very engaged with the premise of the story, and see where this mystery will go. After all that, this was the weakest developed character for Liam Neeson. Not only that, the twists were cliched, underdeveloped, and very unsatisfying. It did remind me a lot of the film Non-Stop, only with a somewhat better story on an airplane. It is what it is, and shows why no matter whose in it, films in January are not good whatsoever!!!

Marshall_(film)

(Sidenote: Marshall- (Continuing with films in 2017 that I see on DVD) This biopic about Thurgood Marshall as a lawyer for the NAACP, working on his first big case. I thought Chadwick Boseman acted very well even though he didn’t really look like him. I also thought Josh Gad as an insurance lawyer working with Marshall acted very well as well. For the most part it is a good court thriller, and some people may get bored with all the law jargon. With all that said, I enjoyed it, and watch history in the making!!!
