Annihilation started off as a really interesting sci-fi film with awesome imagery, but the ending left me with more questions than answers!!!

Rating: 3 Stars

What I Like:

-The imagery in this film was my favorite part of this movie, seeing the mutating plants and some of the animals are great eye candy, and the cinematography of the landscapes was awesome as well
-The acting was pretty good as well
-There are some thrilling scenes that can get you on the edge of your seats

The So So:

-I thought the story was interesting at first and peaked my interest to see where does it go, once the story got moving, it started to remind of some of the typical sci-fi films, the first that comes to my mind is Predator, once it got me there I just wanted to see how it ends and be over with

What I Didn’t Like:

-The ending, it really took a stroll to the weird side, and not to give too much away, but with all the things that went down, it gave me more questions than answers and left me a little confused, bottomline, there was a lot of unanswered questions for me, and hate it when films do that to me

Overall:

As I said before, I really enjoyed the imagery that director Alex Garland creates, and just for those visuals alone it is worth a shot. The story’s premise is intriguing, but in the end, it left me with more questions than answers of what really is happening. Apparently, it is a trilogy, so I hope it can explain more!!!
