Game Night is actually a fun movie that has a clever story, even though the end was too over the top and predictable!!!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

What I Like:

-I have to give kudos to the writing of this movie, I thought it is the best and clever tory for a comedy since The Hangover, a premise that may seem simple but executed beautifully that made it enjoyable
-The comedy was hilarious as well, I thought it has a well balance of slapstick, crudeness, and one liners that really made this film into comedy gold
-The direction was tremendous as well, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein really created a fun and enjoyable comedy to sit back and relax, especially that one chase scene in the house which looked like it was filmed in one shot, that was awesome
-The comedic acting was really good mainly with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams chemistry and with the other people as well really made this authentic

The So So:

-Towards the end, there were some twists that made it genius or just straight over the top, the parts that were genius really made this comedy a very unique experience, but the ones that were straight over the top may seem just a little too much for my liking, it was the difference between a really good movie and a perfect movie

What I Didn’t Like:

-It can be a little predictable, some of the twists actually went through my head at least once
-There is an open ending that really didn’t make sense to me

Overall:

I was really impressed with this comedy with its good writing, comedy, direction, and comedic acting. It all blends up to a comedy which I enjoyed and laughed. To me that is a rare treat for the comedy, but do yourselves a favor and check it out. Hopefully it is enjoyable to you as it was to me!!!

VictoriaAndAbdulPoster

(Sidenote: Victoria and Abdul- Maybe I’m not a fan of British history involving the Royal Family. I thought it had an identity crisis starting off as a comedy and then ending in a serious drama. It wasn’t for a lack of acting, but found the chemistry between Queen Victoria and Abdul very awkward. I did enjoy the end showing about how bigotry can bring out the worst in people no matter where they’re from. Overall, it just didn’t do it for me!!!
