Blockers has it comedic moments and decent drama, but it is too raunchy for my taste!!!
Rating: 3.5 Stars
What I Like:
-It is a decent film mainly cuz I thought the comedic acting was pretty good, John Cena is getting better and better after each role, Leslie Mann as a single mother is good, and Ike Barinholtz providing the most comic relief, the daughters acting was pretty good as well and showed some good drama with their parents, every joke was executed well even though it was not funny at times
-There is some comedic moments that had me laughing, some of the one liners, mainly from Barinholtz, were hilarious, it had a good balance of slapstick as well
The So So:
-It does bring some dramatic moments that can be emotional, like the relationships between Cena and his daughter and the final moment with Barinholtz and his daughter, some felt forced like Mann and her daughter and it didn’t show their make up session after their argument which was slightly disappointing
What I Didn’t Like:
-I’m not a big fan when comedies get too raunchy, to me it is not funny it is just plain gross, I’m not 100% against raunchy comedy, but I believe it needs to have a good balance which comes with good writing, with that said, this film didn’t have that balance, it is very raunchy with some moments that are not funny to begin with, the butt chugging thing for the most part was not funny as an example (though seeing Cena go through with that did have me chuckling) there were other moments like that that made me cringe instead of laugh
Overall:
I do believe this comedy is good enough to be funny and entertaining. It does give a good blend of comedic moments and emotional drama. However, the raunchiness can go a little too far which is more cringeworthy than funny. With that said, the acting and direction is good for mature people to enjoy, and it is decent enough if you’re in the mood to laugh!!!

(Sidenote: Last Flag Flying- This film starring a well acted trio of Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, and Laurence Fishburne as former Vietnam veterans coming together to help bury on of their sons after his death in the Iraq War. I give credit to director Richard Linklater for bringing in a sense of realism to this film, and having these guys exorcise their inner demons, but the story was just a little boring, and for a comedy drama, it wasn’t that funny for me. Regardless, it is a good drama that I believe some people will like!!!

(Sidenote: The Star- This is an animated Christmas film of sorts about The Nativity, but the protagonist is a donkey named Bo. Now it is not 100% biblical, but I still say it is a safe watch for the kids to enjoy. As for the parents, you won’t get bored at the very least. It is entertaining enough for the whole family to gather around during Christmas time and enjoy without any worries!!!
