Rampage may have cool action with monsters destroying a city, but the story and dialogue was just straight out terrible!!!

Rating: 2.5 Stars

What I Like:

-I only give it credit for the action and special effects, it was bearable to watch a giant gorilla, wolf, and alligator tear up a city, the cgi special effects were pretty good

The So So:

-I love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, he is a great action star that works hard in his roles, but I do believe he needs to stop working with director Brad Peyton, because his films make him look like he is phoning it in with his acting, for this one I do see moments, but even in the emotional moment, it felt forced sometimes

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story was way, way too basic for a monster type of movie, at least Pacific Rim has a story we can get into, for Rampage, it is too generic and all you really care was to see giant beasts doing diestruction
-This has to be the worst dialogue so far this year, it was corny and cheesy lines one after another, and another, they make jokes at the worst possible times as well, even at the end, their forced comedy really made me say, “I’m done,” that’s how ridiculous it was in watching this, you’ll see what I mean when you give this film a chance

Overall:

I remember playing this video game back in the day, and quite honestly, I rather replay that game with the old Nintendo graphics than watching this movie again. The writing and story is atrocious, the direction really makes The Rock look bad, and other than the cool special effects destruction, I wasn’t really that engaged. It just keeps proving on why video games turned to movies never work out!!!
