Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fun popcorn flick to watch even though the story is pretty basic, but still good enough to show that the Marvel Cinematic Universe knows how to make them!!!

What I Like:

-It is a fun movie to watch, the action dealing with things shrinking and growing is very enjoyable to watch
-I really enjoyed the chemistry between Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Ant-Man and The Wasp, they worked well together and make some really cool action scenes, and seeing Scott Lang’s relationship with his daughter really adds a nice touch to his character
-The comedy was golden as well, Michael Pena as Luis has to be one of the funniest things to see and laugh, I really enjoyed his character and hope to see more of him

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story wasn’t the best I’ve seen, and I kind of expected better from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it really relied on the action and characters which did work, but the story was just too basic for my liking
-Some of the twists I saw coming

SPOILER THREAD (Don’t read if you haven’t seen it):

-The villains were pretty one dimensional, Walton Goggins as Sonny Birch was just a typical black market dealer, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost was a typical not villainy, but need something badly and get out of my way type of ordeal even though her power and character development was good enough to watch
-Michelle Pfieffer as Janet van Dyne made for an emotional reunion but I was a little bummed that she was there for about ten minutes more or less
-The only big thing that ties this movie with the rest of the MCU is the mid credits scene where Ant-Man is in the Quantum Realm and Hank Pym, Hope van Dyne, and Janet van Dyne all disintegrate from what happened in Avengers: Infinity War, it pretty much proves the theory for the next Avengers movie that Ant-Man being stuck in the Quantum Realm will play a huge role in turning back time, so I guess I will look forward to seeing Ant-Man being a huge hero in the next Avengers film

Overall:

This is a fun popcorn movie with fun action and great comedy. The charm and chemistry of Ant-Man and The Wasp makes it enjoyable even though the story is surprisingly subpar for an MCU movie. Yes it does set the tone for upcoming events in the MCU, and I’m looking forward to that!!!

(Sidenote: The 15:17 to Paris- You know what you’re getting with a movie directed by Clint Eastwood, a lot of “Pride.” With this movie it is no different and it is engaging and what not, however it really didn’t bring nothing new to the table. Let alone, that they actually got the real heroes during that terrorist attack to act in this movie, and they were very subpar in their acting. So that gimmick didn’t work at all, and definitely didn’t make this movie any better!!!
