BlacKkKlansman is a well written, well put together story that deals with race relations, good cop drama thrills, it’s been Spike Lee’s best film since He Got Game!!!

What I Like:

-This has to be Spike Lee’s best film since He Got Game, I like how well put together it is and the may different camera shots really makes it unique in its own way, some of the camera shots were powerful enough and didn’t even need any words whatsoever
-The writing is top notch, it had a lot of great quotes with a powerful story, the dialogue is what really makes it stand out with their funny lines and the thrills when it deals with undercover cops
-The acting was superb especially with John David Washington as Detective Ron Stallworth and Adam Driver as Detective Flip Zimmerman, their chemistry is really dynamic when they are just joking around or when it gets really serious, it was a partnership that really keeps the execution of the story very fun and unique

The So So:

-I know Spike Lee means well with his small political montage in the end about what happened in Charlottesville, VA a year ago, but I just didn’t think it really brought anything more to the table, the movie itself was great enough and it didn’t need that to make us think more, honestly, it is Spike Lee just wanting to add his political statement, I get that, just not needed

What I Didn’t Like:

-I also didn’t understand the beginning with Alec Baldwin playing Dr. Kennebrew Beauregard, it was very weird to say the least, yet really didn’t relate to the story as well, the only reason I could think of is to set the tone of the film, but once again, it wasn’t needed, though it was too extra especially with Alec Baldwin as just a cameo and that seemed wasted to me

Overall:

With all the extra things aside, this is a really good film to watch. It has a great story, great acting, and a powerful message which we can relate to right now. I thought it was clever how they tied in today’s race relation with what happened in the 70’s. It is very though provoking and kudos to Spike Lee for making something unique for us to watch and think. I really enjoyed watching this, it wasn’t boring at all, and can also inspire to do what is right!!!
