The Girl in the Spider’s Web is different from its predecessor which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you watch it!!!

Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-The action is a lot of fun to watch, and given the circumstances that the story leads to, it can be very thrilling
-One thing I do appreciate about this film than from its predecessor (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is that the story is more simplified and straight to the point, the first movie really dragged on to get their point across

The So So:

-I get it that it is a soft reboot, but to me it still is a sequel with a lot of recasting, in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig were awesome in their roles, especially Mara as Lisbeth, in this one Claire Foy was Lisbeth, and she did a good job, however she was nowhere near as good as Mara in that role, as for recasting Mikael Blomkvist, it was weird, Sverrir Gudnasson looked tremondously younger, and his character development was very subpar that we really didn’t care about him, I wish they did keep the same cast, but it is what it is

What I Didn’t Like:

-I don’t get why Rated R films set in Europe has to be so dark, I mean really dark with the tone, cinematography, and scenes that can make you cringe, instead of showing the good things a European city has to offer, it shows the slums and all the crime the city also have, not my style whatsoever
-Also the trailers did show too much which ruined the element of surprise for me

Overall:

It is different from its predecessor. In a good way, I appreciated the concise story and the cool action. With that said, the new cast wasn’t nearly as good as Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. With all that said, I still enjoyed it, it is a lot of fun with some thrills that makes me look forward to what’s next!!!

Hereditary

(Sidenote: Hereditary- Pretty much the only reason I watched this horror film is because of the good reviews it got. I have to say that I give it credit to the acting of Toni Collette and the creepiness it brings. It didn’t rely on jump scares, just on pure creepy scenes and sounds. With all that said, once it got into occultish things, it really lost my interest instantly. It is not my kind of film whatsoever, so don’t really judge me on the rating!!!
