Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindelwald has great visual effects and strong acting that will keep you entertained, and a lot of back story and fillers to look forward to the future!!!

Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-As you come to expect with the Wizarding World franchise, the visual effects are astonishing, and that alone is worth coming to and watch it for yourself
-The acting was great as well, the old characters has received great purpose as this franchise continues, as for the new characters I enjoyed Leta played by the beautiful Zoe Kravitz, I enjoyed the moments with the young Dumbledore played by Jude Law where I believe Law captures his character very well and looking forward to see more of young Dumbledore,  and lastly Johnny Depp as the villain, Grindelwald, he proves how powerful he can be by not just dark magic, but with his persuasive voice and intellect, and a different kind of villain that will make us forget Voldermort for a while when we watch this Fantastic Beats version of this franchise

The So So:

-There is a lot of character development and back story in this to keep us informed of what it is to come with this story, and, yes, you can say it is a filler type of movie for future films which can make it weak to watch, however, I thought everything was well executed and not boring, and with the plot thickening, it really has us looking forward to the future movies to see what happens next

What I Didn’t Like:

-The chemistry between Newt and Tina is very awkward for me, they both just act weird when they are with each other, I guess it is suppose to be that way, but that doesn’t mean that I like it, I hope that relationship gets better
-Don’t understand the purpose of the character Jacob other than comic relief because there really is no reason for him to be there as a human (or muggle/no-maj) in the battle against Grindelwald, he should be back in New York running his bakery

SPOILER THREAD (Don’t read if you haven’t seen it):

-There are some cameos like seeing a young Professor McGonagall, and the Philosopher’s Stone where will tickle your past Harry Potter movies funny bone
-Queenie joining Grindelwald will show major complications in future movies that I’m intrigue to see what will happen
-The big twist in the end that Credence is actually Dumbledore’s brother really makes the story of this franchise interesting and another reason to look forward to the future movies

Overall:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a fun movie that sets the tone for the main honchos of this franchise with Newt, Tina, Jacob, Queenie, and Credence. Now in this film, each of them (with the exception of Jacob) has a greater purpose in what it is too come in this future movies as they go against Grindelwald and his followers. I enjoyed this movie even though it was a filler for the future movies. The visual effects and the strong acting makes it worth while. For all the Harry Potter fans, you won’t be disappointed!!!
