The Front Runner is a very interesting story that is well acted by Hugh Jackman, flows well despite all the politics and journalism jargon!!!

What I Like:

-I enjoyed the story of how one candidate’s mistake really changed the way politics are reported and how it is today, it was very interesting
-One of the main reason this was enjoyable to watch is seeing Hugh Jackman portraying Presidential candidate Gary Hart and all the things he went through and how he handled (or not handled) the controversy surrounding him

The So So:

-There is a lot of dialogue that contains a lot of jargon for politics and journalism that only people in the field would know about, with that said, it does bring out the authenticity in which the story tries to tell

What I Didn’t Like:

-Some aspects in the story I wished they dived deeper, like what happened to his “mistress,” how did he reconciled with his wife and why she accepted him, and how this controversy really did change the way politics are reported and what the people believe, it would make the story a lot more interesting
-The film really made out that he is guilty of having an affair even though historically speaking, nothing is proven

Overall:

I really enjoyed how they told this story through many viewpoints when this controversy was reported. I thought it was executed very well, and the fine acting of Hugh Jackman really made it very interesting and fun to watch. Yes I wish it got deeper into the problems it faced and how it affected the future, but I liked it for what it is. It is authentic enough to make you relive on what happened during that time!!!

(Sidenote: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again- A musical sequel where I believe it is not needed. It is a prequel talking about the journey of Donna as a young person. A story we already know. Then the future of her daughter Sophie, rebuilding the hotel. To me it is more of the same. New musical performance from the songs of ABBA, and some similar songs like “Dancing Queen.” The story is a little better, but it is still corny. However, fans of this musical will love it. I think!!!
