Serenity isn’t what you expect, the dumb story and twists really made it fall hard, before it even hits the climax!!!

What I Like:
-You get the most from the acting of Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Djimon Hounsou
-The cinematography is really eye catching with all the ocean and beach side views
The So So:
-The premise that you get from the trailers is interesting, and is what really go me engaged in the beginning, but it all falls apart when you figure out what really is going on
What I Didn’t Like:
-The story, once you hit the twist that is bad like an M. Night Shyamalan moment during his pace of bad films, it really just threw me way off, not only that it didn’t make sense, but the execution of it was just so bad, so bad, that I don’t want to explain it because it my not only confuse you, but myself again, it is a waste of a role for all the good actors in it
Overall:
I was highly disappointed with this movie. I actually had high expectation with its great cast and interesting premise. You know a movie is bad when before it hits the climax, it was starting to break apart. Once it does hit the climax with its twist, it really just tears itself apart to tiny little pieces that need to be vacuumed up and disposed of. As I said before, a waste of a role for these great actors and this film will be forgettable big time!!!

(Sidenote: The Favourite- The last Oscar nominated film for Best Picture I needed to see for 2018. I’m not a huge fan of British period pieces drama or British comedy. As I was watching it, it had a few good comedic moments. It also brings some strong acting between Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone (whose British accent was good) fighting to become the “favorite of the Queen of England. In the end, I wasn’t engaged and really didn’t care who “won” in the end. That is because, both of them were just not likable to root for!!!
