What I Like:

-I thought the premise is interesting, cuz I’m not a fan of rom-com and this looks like a film making fun of rom-com films, and I was looking forward to laugh at it

The So So:

-Here is my issue with it, I initially thought it was going to end like a cliched rom-com, but when the story was progressing, it seems like it will be going to another route which I will be fine with, but in the end, they still made a cliched rom-com, so with heir main point about their thoughts on rom-com films, they made it hypocritical in the way they ended by making a cliched rom com film, to me, that is disappointing (I hope that makes sense)

What I Didn’t Like:

-There were a couple of chuckle moments, but the comedy wasn’t funny to me, I can honestly say I’m not a fan of Rebel Wilson, I just don’t think she is funny, and if the main character isn’t funny, then this movie didn’t do its job, plain and simple

Overall:

I was hoping I will enjoy this type of movie cuz they are making fun of rom-com films. Unfortunately, the comedy and Rebel Wilson was not funny enough for me to even care. The way it ended, it became what it feared to be, and loses its main point of the story. So in the end, you just find it hypocritical, and that is a mess in itself!!!

(Sidenote: Mary Queen of Scots- This historical piece had a very interesting story which really turned out to be a something political dealing with Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots and their beliefs and their people’s beliefs. The acting was strong, especially Saoirse Ronan playing Mary Queen of Scots. With all that said, it was just way too boring for my liking. I tried to get into it, but it got to a point where I was fighting to not fall asleep. Sometimes with historical dramas, they tend to be boring and I hope they find some better writing for it!!!
