Fighting With My Family may follow the old sports movie cliche, but it has a lot of heart to make this a feel good film!!!

What I Like:
-What really makes this film work is the acting of the family, they may be a weird family that likes World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and have a business of it, but they show a lot of support for one another through the good and bad times. I really enjoyed the chemistry of Paige, played by Florence Pugh, and her relationship with her family, especially her brother Zak, played by Kack Lowden, which actually shows a genuine brother and sister relationship, I also enjoyed the father played by Nick Frost who was hilarious, sarcastic, but a loving and supportive father
-I also enjoyed Vince Vaughn as the tough minded wrestling coach that pushes the trainees to the limit, and it is fun for Dwayne Johnson to act like The Rock just one more time
-In the end, it is a feel good movie about perseverance and working hard to pursue a dream, and wrestling fans will enjoy it
The So So:
-The fight where Paige finally gets her WWE debut was a subpar fight, it wasn’t really thrilling and way too fast, but with that said, I understand that it is a WWE fight and that’s how it is really, I’m not a fan, but I get it
What I Didn’t Like:
-It is a sports movie. and it does go through its formulaic story and cliches which is almost obvious of what it is going to happen
Overall:
This film had a lot of heart in dealing with family and the support needed to achieve not only her dream, but her family’s dream. It really brings the character of Paige which is relatable with her vulnerability and trials. The acting of the family makes it funny and joyous. The story, though formulaic and cliched, is a feel good story that we all can enjoy. WWE fans will like this the most, and I can honestly give that moment to them!!!

(Sidenote: The Old Man & the Gun- This is an interesting film about an old man who lived his life as a robber and an escape prison artist. It is an interesting story about a not so typical bank robber who uses his gentleman personality to get what he wants, and how the cops pursuit of him. Though it can be slow at many times, I found it very intriguing in a personal level of being who you are, though a bad guy, but with a heart. If this is Robert Redford’s last movie role, it is a proper send off for another iconic actor!!!
