Rocketman is everything you have with a typical biopic, but the acting and the musical numbers does make this a fun watch, especially to Elton John fans!!!

What I Like:

-Taron Egerton really did a great job portraying the musician Elton John, I thought he captured all the emotions that he needed to bring, and his singing voice is really good to keep up with the music legend
-What made this biopic different for the better is that they made his life mixed in with musical numbers that was a lot of fun to watch and pertains to the story of what is going on with John’s life during that moment, I thought that was genius in their part

The So So:

-Just like past good biopics, it does follow that formula of showing the ups and downs of the artist life, and especially for musicians, they endure a lot of things like addiction and family problems, with all that said, it is still entertaining to watch his life unravel before us, I also like it how his story is being told through his first rehab stint as well, that was interesting

What I Didn’t Like:

-It is rushed mainly because they focused more on the musical numbers more than anything, and they missed some interesting moments that I kind of want to see more of, like his “marriage” to Renate Blauel, what happened after his falling out with his mother, and to a lesser extent, his manager, John Reid, those little things that tapped on, but never really expound on

Overall:

If you’re a fan of Elton John, you will enjoy this movie. Plain and simple. The songs you will sing along to, and reminisce to the good old times. It is a typical biopic formula, but you will enjoy the acting, mainly from Taron Edgerton, and the flashy musical numbers it brings. So once again Elton John fans, enjoy this!!!

(Sidenote: Escape Room- This is like a water downed Saw movie, but I really enjoyed the thrills it brings two thirds of the way. I love puzzles and escape rooms, but the ending os not something you celebrate about. It is actually stupid which affected this movie greatly!!!
