The Lion King was awesome graphically, with that said, it is the same old story, but it stills captures the magic which makes it good enough!!!

What I Like:

-The graphics in this live remake of this Disney classic was awesome, I enjoyed the detail of every aspect of the animals and the landscapes, kudos to director Jon Favreau for creating this movie I loved as a kid
-To me the voice casting was great, but two people stood out for me, Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the villain Scar was great and intense, and the chemistry between Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan as Timon and Pumbaa were hilarious
-The hyenas were also very intense in their scenes, and I also enjoyed the comedy relief between Keegan-Michael Key and Eric Andre

The So So:

-Yes it is practically the same story as the original, but that’s why I don’t mind it, it didn’t take any risks like Dumbo which practically failed, they played it safe, with that said, it won’t be great, just good enough at best

What I Didn’t Like:

-Some of my favorite moments in the original was underwhelming in this remake, and that is disappointing for me

Overall:

I thought this remake was good enough, but unlike Aladdin, there were moments that felt underwhelming. Regardless, I still enjoyed the music scenes, and the graphics were beyond stupendous. It is the same story we all know and love, but to me that isn’t really a bad thing. With the new voice casting, it does feel like a breathe of fresh air. With all that said, I would still bring the family to watch, and see the young ones experience it for the first time!!!

(Sidenote: Little- I tried to watch this movie with an open mind, but to be honest, it got straight up annoying for me. The biggest thing I didn’t like, other than the corniness, is they could’ve taken a theme about bullying, and turn it into a very good message. However, they didn’t, and I was disappointed!!!
