Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino at his finest, strong acting, and great homage to late 60s movies!!!

Real Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-You have everything you need in a Tarantino movie, strong acting, great dialogue, oldies music, awkward moments and violent scenes that made it very enjoyable to watch
-I did enjoy the scenery it painted on late 60’s Hollywood, the old Chevy cars, the music, the style, and I love the homages of the famous late 60’s movies it brings out, I also enjoyed seeing how movies were filmed at the time as well, very fun to watch
-The acting was very strong as well, of course with Leonardo DiCaprio you will get that, with that said, the one who stole the show was Brad Pitt’s character, he showed a lot of charisma in almost everything he was doing as a stuntman or just a regular guy, many of the great moments in this film involved him, him and DiCaprio showed great chemistry which is a joy to see

The So So:

-As usual with Tarantino movies that involves historical events, it won’t be exactly how it should be which can bother you, I won’t say more, but it was interesting to see how things went down in this version

What I Didn’t Like:

-Even though I like better when the story telling is in linear order, I didn’t like how it took a huge jump and the only transition it had was the narration of Kurt Russell, it just really took me off guard and questioning the main point of the story even though it kind of wraps up well in the end, but it took a while to get there
-I wish they touched base more on the Manson Family cult, it showed them and how weird they are, but it doesn’t develop them really well and I was kind of disappointed in that regard

Overall:

As I said before, it is Tarantino at his finest in film making. It is not my favorite, but it is a lot of fun to watch. The acting, dialogue, and setting alone makes it worth it to watch. Tarantino fans, you won’t be disappointed, and that’s a real fact!!!

Real Rating: 4 Stars

Pet Sematary (2019 poster).png

(Sidenote: Pet Sematary- It is better than the original, but it is not saying to much. The story and execution is a lot better, but as a horror film, it wasn’t that scary or terrifying. The ending was way too dark even for horror movie standards. At least it wasn’t boring!!!
Real Rating: 3 Stars)
