Ready or Not is an intriguing yet very weird movie, where it does have its moments of good and sometimes cringy bad!!!

Real Rating: 3.5 Stars

What I Like:

-For a horror thriller, I thought the story for the most part was very interesting, it kept me engaged and at times edge of my seat type of thrills
-I thought the cast with the direction of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett executed very well, the blend of comedy, drama, and thrills really flowed very well

The So So:

It does have its weirdness to this story, but it makes sense with the tone it brings, the surprise moments will make you shake your head and ask yourself, “What the heck just happened?” So at times, it is so weird that it is good

What I Didn’t Like:

-In typical horror movie fashion it has those annoying cliches where people make dumb decisions while they run for your lives, it had a lot of those cringy moments where the violence and stupidity really doesn’t make the end meet

Overall:

This movie is interestingly entertaining. The story, acting, and direction blended very well. It can be weird, but a good weird. Also, fans of violent horror films will definitely love this one. Especially with how things ended, and I will leave it at that!!!

(Sidenote: The Curse of La Llorona- I remember this story when I was a kid. Unfortunately this wasn’t really the cultured horror film I was expecting. Regardless, it is a somewhat decent film that does rely a lot on jump scares. I just wanted more than that!!!
