Hustlers will be a guilty pleasure movie, only this type of guilty pleasure actually has some substance to it!!!

Real Rating: 4 Stars

What I Like:

-The performances from Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu were spectacular, especially that one scene from Jennifer Lopez (yes, I’m being too vague) had my mouth drop, that is all
-It is a story about taking advantage of the rich for themselves to survive, and you can be disgusted at times, but the bigger theme that had some substance in the story was how a friendship progressed, digressed, and in the end, realizing what they have was actually special
-The comedy is very funny and real

The So So:

-If you’re expecting some a lot of “revelations” (especially from certain actresses), you may be greatly disappointed (I kind of was), but that is not the main point of the film, it does mix in some politics and other themes that can make you think about life in general, and to me, that is where the true bright spot is

What I Didn’t Like:

-Story can drag a little bit with conversations that really don’t pertain to the story
-Cardi B’s acting, esh

Overall:

Guys will watch this for mainly one reason. What I would strongly urge you all is to approach this with an open mind, and see that there is something deeper than this. the themes it brings, gives a lot of substance and show the reality of how hard things are, and probably still is. It has a good blend of everything for your enjoyment. Guilty pleasures and all!!!
