Rambo: Last Blood (Sidenote: Ma)

Rambo - Last Blood official theatrical poster.jpg

Rambo: Last Blood has a cliched plot, gratuitous violence, and a down right stupid way to end this iconic character!!!

Real Rating: 2 Stars

What I Like:

-The nice and powerful moments between Rambo and his niece is heart warming to watch

The So So:

-The violence was so big and unnecessary, even for Rambo standards, it was more like watching a Saw film, with all that said, I give credit to director Adrian Grunberg for making the violence bloodily crazy good for the fans of that (aka psychos)

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story is something we’ve seen before, very much like the film Taken but terrible execution
-The one thing that really bothered me was how much of a negative light they put on Mexico and the people, they made them look like straight up savages, and with how it is in the real world now, I felt it was terribly inappropriate

SPOILERS Warning (Move to overall if you haven’t seen the movie yet):

The one thing that really bothered me as well was that it didn’t give any justice for the iconic character of Rambo, I at least was hoping for a nice closure for Rambo, maybe to be at peace for once, instead, he receives more stress and pain, and he doesn’t die in the end, I’m just here shaking my head wondering why even bother making this movie, even for Sylvester Stallone’s standards, he should have not made this movie if he really wanted to keep that character legendary

Overall:

Hoping for great closure to John Rambo, instead I receive great disappointment. With a very weak story, and the gratuitous violence that didn’t make sense for the character whatsoever. I don’t know what it is about fifth movies with iconic Stallone characters, but just like Rocky V, it should be forgotten and cease to exist!!!

Real Rating: 2 Stars

Ma Official Movie Poster.jpg

(Sidenote: Ma- Overall, it is a cliched teen horror movie. With that said I found some good things. First the performance by Octavia Spencer as the psycho Ma was a marvel to see for sure. The other thing is I like the theme it puts out of how bullying can lead to some mental implications in the future that can bite you in the end. Too bad the story was too typical and rushed to really make this good!!!
