The Current War is a very, very interesting movie on a period piece where it was enlightening, and seeing Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon as historical characters were phenomenal to see!!!

What I Like:
-Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon really had a creative way of showing this war on owning electricity through out the country, the different camera angles, the editing, the music, the dark colors that eventually lightens up, it was all interesting to see
-Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison and Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse two of the prime members of cities having electrical power and the bidding wars that ensued and how they try to one up each other, I really liked seeing Cumberbatch play Edison as a genius yet not too people friendly which usually a lot of geniuses are, and Shannon as Westinghouse a a business savvy person who know matter what Edison throws at him, he is always cool, calm, and collected, two different personalities, yet good at what they do
The So So:
-As much as I like the banter and dialogue in this movie, sometimes all that business talk and electrical science mumbo jumbo can be a little too daunting at times, regardless, once you get use to it, I still found it fascinating
What I Didn’t Like:
-I wished they expounded more on the character of Nikola Tesla, played by Nicholas Hoult, all he was was a guy with great ideas but was pushed around, I would like to see more of why he is important in the electrical world, because here he was a genius that wasn’t put into good use
Overall:
I really enjoyed watching this film. It was creatively directed, wit great dialogue, and some phenomenal acting. Who knew you can make a movie about the war on electricity interesting? If you are into historical pieces and science, you will enjoy what this film brings. It kept my attention from beginning to end, and left off feeling more enlightened (pun intended) then ever before!!!
