The Good Liar had some interesting parts with great performances by Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren, but overall, it can be a slog!!!

What I Like:

-The performances by Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren were great, as if there was any doubt

The So So:

-The story had its interesting parts of seeing McKellen’s character as a con man doing things that con men do, but it was also all too predictable, I kind of knew what will happen, but the execution of the plot twist does make it interesting at the very least

What I Didn’t Like:

-Overall, it was a slog to me, I didn’t really care about the “relationship” between the two characters, too much emphasis on that, I would’ve rather see more con man things, to me that is more interesting then two old people starting a relationship

Overall:

This film had its moments with two very fine actors in the mix of it. I enjoyed seeing the con moments, and the twist at the end. With all that said, there are moments where it can get really boring. So take it as it is, you will either love it or hate it. Or be the rare in betweener like me!!!
