1917 may not be everything what I expected, but the direction and camera work of Sam Mendes is nothing short of mystified amazement!!!

Real Rating: 4.5 Stars

What I Like:

-Sam Mendes has been getting praise for his direction for this movie, and he deserves all the credit, the camera work, editing, and cinematography all together to make a film that looks like it was shot all in one take was nothing short of amazing, it was like the movie Birdman but with all the action and hard work put into this war movie really takes the cake
-As for the acting, I give them credit for all the hard work they put in as well, I know it wasn’t easy doing these really long takes, but in the end, it all looks great and all their hard work is getting paid off

The So So:

-There was a lot of big name actors in this film, but don’t get too attached to them, cuz they just do their part greatly and you never see them again

What I Didn’t Like:

-The one thing I do have to say is that I expected more, I was kind of expecting something with more action like Saving Private Ryan or Hacksaw Ridge, don’t get me wrong, the film is great in its own way, but action wise, it is nowhere near as those films I mentioned

Overall:

This film is a must see for all fans of films. The way the basic story is told and developed by the hard execution that Sam Mendes expected was nothing short of mystifying, and astonish you with amazement. I love it when films are captured making it look like it is nonstop. It is creative, and looks like a lot of hard work was put in. I believe this will be the film that will be talked about in future, and deserving of the awards it will get!!!
