Spenser Confidential (Sidenote: Last Christmas)

Spenser Confidential is a fun action movie, only thing, it is a typical action movie!!!

Real Rating: 3.5 Machetes

What I Like:

-The action was fun, it wasn’t over the top, it is simple enough to make it enjoyable, the fight scenes is where I really felt the punches for sure
-The acting by Mark Wahlberg (The Great Marky Mark), Winston Duke, and Alan Arkin was entertaining for me, seeing three different personalities come together really added a nice touch
-The cinematography of showing the beauty of the city of Boston was awesome to see

The So So:

-It is set in Boston, but no real Boston accents, not that authentic, but maybe it would’ve been too distracting for this type of film

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story was a typical action cop story that we have seen for the past 30 years, yes for a cop story, there will be corrupt cops, which is why the twist wasn’t surprising at all, the disgraced protagonist to a hero, check, somebody getting kidnapped to set up the final battle, check, it was all way too typical which just makes a film to ok, then great

Overall:

If you’re into action flicks, then yes go ahead, watch it, enjoy what it has to offer. If you’re expecting more, don’t bother, you’ll be greatly disappointed. For this type of film, it is perfect for it to be on Netflix, that way you don’t regret too much in coming out to watch it. You can watch it in the comforts of your home, and that’s that. That’s what I did, and I had fun watching it. Maybe more than I should have, but whatever!!!

Real Rating: 3.5 Machetes

Last Christmas poster.jpeg

(Sidenote: Last Christmas- Another romantic Christmas movie. What more can you expect. This time with Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding. To me, I like the chemistry and charm these two bring, but the story is not something I really cared for. Didn’t really peaked my interest. Even with the twist, I kind of saw it coming. If you’re a George Michael fan, then you may like this film!!!
Real Rating: 3 Stars)
