The Willoughbys

The Willoughbys may be uneven in story, but the charm is there to make a family movie worthwhile!!!

Real Rating: 3.5 Big Red Mustaches

What I Like:

-The voice casting was great from Will Forte, to Maya Rudolph, to Terry Crews, to Ricky Gervais, and even Alessia Cara in her voice debut all meshed well together, and brought in good spirits with their characters
-In the end, this family film has a lot of charm and good vibes with the theme of family and sticking together, makes it worthwhile for a family to watch

The So So:

-The animation needs some getting used to, it is like The Lego Movie, but once you do, the details they put in is amazing seeing the threads in their hair makes it doll lifelike if that makes sense

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story was all over the place, it was almost like three different cartoon sets in one movie and it does make a difference in tone and plot which can make it hard to follow sometimes
-The parents in this has to be the worst parents ever witnessed in film, it practically made me hate them

Overall:

The story is uneven throughout the whole ordeal. With that said, it still packs a lot good charm for the whole family to watch. The theme of family sticking together, and realizing who means most to you can be inspiring. Once you get use to the stop motion animation, you can relax and marvel to what it brings!!!
