Bill and Ted Face the Music may be nostalgic to fans with some fun twists, but in the end, it is one crazily uneven story!!!
3.5 Robot Assassins
What I Like:
-Fans of the Bill and Ted franchise will enjoy this movie, it still brings the essence with a lot of great callbacks from the original movies, it does create nostalgia for sure
-I like the roles that Bill and Ted’s daughters play which does bring a good message about unity which I appreciate
-I enjoyed the new character of Dennis the robot assassin, had me laughing a lot
The So So:
-I’ve always said this, Keanu Reeves sounded more like Keanu Reeves than the character Ted in the film, not sure of that is a good thing or a bad thing, but the chemistry with Alex Winter is still great to watch, and seeing them dash out one liners after one liners can be funny or dumb, I guess it is a fun thing to see them together one last time, especially when they argue with themselves, hilarious
What I Didn’t Like:
-The story is uneven, but in a crazy way, there is a goal in mind, but with all the subplots, it can be hard to follow, it does crazily all come together, but it is a journey that can give you a headache, but then again, isn’t that is what Bill and Ted is all about?
Overall:
The story is as crazy as its original films in the early 90s. It can create uneven, gonzo storytelling that can leave you bewildered. With all that said, fans of Bill and Ted will love this for nostalgic purposes. It does bring out the charm that made it effective in their tone of wild events and time traveling. For that, you can appreciate, and their special message can make it worthwhile in a weird sort of way!!!
