The Broken Hearts Gallery is a cliched rom-com, but Geraldine Viswanathan did not make it boring!!!
Real Rating: 3 Hoarders in Denial
What I Like:
-This movie was entertaining at the very least because of the performance by Geraldine Viswanathan, her quirky persona and dealing with mental breakdowns when it comes to relationships is great to watch her do her thing
The So So:
-Though it is not for me because I don’t understand it, but if you all are into art and unique galleries, you will enjoy that aspect that this movie brings
-The comedy was hit or miss, but when it hits, I was actually laughing
What I Didn’t Like:
-It follows all the rom-com tropes which I hate with a capital H, I knew what to expect going in, but this was painful for me to watch, and very eye rolling for me, rom-coms are not my cup of tea, so please don’t sue me
Overall:
Yes it is a cliched rom-com that I will always dislike. However, the biggest spark is the performance of Geraldine Viswanathan. She was great, and the role worked naturally for her with her comedy and quirkiness. I’m willing to go out on a limb and say, she could play Ms. Marvel for the Disney+ series. She would be perfect. With all that said, art lovers and rom-com enthusiasts would enjoy this film. As for me, it just didn’t do much for me!!!

(Sidenote: Waiting for the Barbarians – I get the message of this film, and the acting is great, primarily Mark Rylance and Johnny Depp. With all that said, it was all wasted with an execution that all falls flat. This has potential to be something really good, but, in the end, it is mediocre at best!!!)
