Real Rating: 3.5 Memory Losses

What I Like:

-Sir Anthony Hopkins continues to show why he is a legend in Hollywood acting, this time as an elderly man suffering from strong dementia, his performance was believable with a subject that hit close to home with me, Hopkins legacy continues with this movie

The So So:

-The way the story went down it was confusing and distorted, you were not sure what is really going on, but the genius of it is that it is supposed to be that way, it takes you to the mind of Anthony and actually feel what he is feeling, it is like a journey you are taking with him

What I Didn’t Like:

-It is a sad journey to experience, dementia is a terrible thing for a person to go through, and seeing Anthony go through with this and how it affects other people, it is depressing, and as I said before, seeing this happening to someone close to me, it is scary, and an unpleasant ending that is not uplifting, and I hate feeling that way
-It did have a slow start which almost made me lose focus on the movie

Overall:

As I mentioned before, this continues the legacy of Sir Anthony Hopkins with a performance that is more personal and sad instead of his usual big and defiant characters he plays. Also, the way it portrays how scary a person with dementia can be. In the end, it is sad and depressing seeing a person suffering with this condition. Too sad for my taste. Especially when I personally knew someone that has went through it. May my grandma RIP!!!

(Sidenote: Pinocchio – A classic Italian childhood story went back to its origin roots. Once you get passed through the disturbing makeup, the graphics are weirdly good. It is the same old story, but it is authentic. The English dub does make it weird too. If you are a fan of the original story, you may enjoy this film. Scary makeup and all!!!
