The chemistry and charm between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson was just enough to find this film enjoyable despite the lackluster plot!!!
Real Rating: 3.5 Samuel L. Jackson’s Laughs
What I Like:
-The charm of Ryan Reynolds and the intensity of Samuel L. Jackson really made this chemistry work, their comedic timing in their dialogue really comes off naturally, add a crazy Selma Hayek to this mix, and it can be a wild ride for sure
-The action was pretty good, I give credit to director Patrick Hughes for making it entertaining to watch
-The cinematography was really good, capturing the beautiness of certain cities in Italy, it actually made me want to go to Italy
The So So:
-Without spoiling it, there is a certain scene and cameo which was great at first, but when you start thinking about it it leaves you with a lot of questions in trying to make sense of things
What I Didn’t Like:
-The story was all over the place and sporadic, it really made it hard to follow, and the endgame of it all just didn’t make sense
-How are you going to have Antonio Banderas playing a Greek guy, but still have a Spanish accent?
Overall:
Let’s face it, the story is not good at all. It may be terrible. With that said, I was still entertained. The action was fun. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson is hilarious, even with a crazy Selma Hayek. I laughed more than I probably should. In the end, I enjoyed it enough for what it is!!!
