Death in the Nile may have better execution and story than its predecessor, but the final act just didn’t do it for me!!!
Real Rating:
3.5 Accusations
What I Like:
-The acting was spot on, Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot was great as always, and gave him more depth to his character, but who really impressed me was Russell Brand as a doctor, it took me a minute to figure out who he is, but he really impressed me with his acting, it wasn’t the stereotypical Russell Brand
-The special effects and cinematography was excellent, and really created a spectacle with its execution of everything
The So So:
-There is a debate not only with this film, but with its predecessor as well with the old school, “Who Done It,” type of dialogue with the interviews and the accusations, personally I find the interviews and accusations better than the last film, not 100% why but I believe it has to do with better character development, cuz in the first film I found it more boring
What I Didn’t Like:
-The final act is what didn’t do it for me, without spoiling it, it just didn’t make sense to me with how everything went down, and it was a little predictable to me as well
-Seeing Armie Hammer on this and his dancing scenes with the woman does make you uncomfortable
Overall:
I liked this better than the first film for one thing only, better character development. It made you care about the characters a little more. The same execution and story which makes it somewhat interesting, but the end result can be ridiculous. If you’re into that sort of thing, then you will like it. If not, it may be too slow for your taste. See for yourself in this murder mystery!!!
