Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is what you expect from this franchise, only this time it was very sluggish!!!

Real Rating:

3.5 Muggles

What I Like:

-The acting is always good in this franchise, and we get what we expect, Jude Law as Dumbledore was great, and I always loved Dan Fogler as Kowalski who always provide comic relief and a lot of heart and this film acknowledges it
-The biggest upgrade was Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald, he was more intimidating than Johnny Depp was as this villain, I hated the way they got rid of Depp, but this may come out as a blessing in disguise

The So So:

-It is everything you expect in a Harry Potter franchise, and for a Fantastic Beasts movie, we do get some beasts to enjoy, but did it add anything new to the table? My consensus is not really, and it can get old pretty quick

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story they went with is more of a political approach in the Ministry of Magic where Grindelwald is trying to manipulate an election for him to become Supreme Mugwump, with this approach it made the story flat and uninteresting, there was no real adventure, let alone cool wizard fights, and I was pretty much disinterested in what will happen next

Overall:

As I said before, it is everything you expect in this franchise with the setting and CGI that makes it cool to watch, and the acting was spot with some upgrades like Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald. With all that said, I just didn’t care for the political approach of this story. It just made it sluggish and boring. If there is two more films in this prequel franchise, they better bring it, or this will get old quick!!!

Real Rating:

3.5 Muggles
