Day Shift is what you expect in a vampire action movie on Netflix, fun, but throw away any type of logic!!!
Real Rating:
3.5 Contorted Bodies
What I Like:
-Jaime Foxx really carries himself in this role as a struggling vampire hunter trying to support his family, he really embraced his role and just straight up had fun with it
-The action was fun to watch, seeing some straight up vampire action is everything you can expect, an all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride
The So So:
-The story lacks a lot of substance, and pretty much it’s formulaic, but if you are setting yourself high expectations for a vampire movie on Netflix, you are setting yourself up for disappointment
-First time director J. J. Perry looked like he was a spawn of director Michael Bay with his filming style, and not the editing (thank goodness) so for some people, that is a good thing, or a bad thing, I’m in the middle of that
What I Didn’t Like:
-James Franco’s character was so annoying, I wanted to slap him myself for how dumb his character is
Overall:
Set your expectations low, and sit back and relax with this one. Just enjoy the fun vampire action featuring Jaime Foxx. Don’t expect a great story, and you will be fine. As I always said, don’t expect great things from a Netflix movie!!!
