Beast

Beast has its thrilling moments that makes up for the lackluster story!!!

Real Rating:

3.5 Poachers

What I Like:

-What really impressed me is the long non edited shooting scenes it brings out, I swear some lasted about 5 minutes of long unedited fearsome action which I appreciated, kudos to director Baltasar Kormakur
-The film is thrilling every time the killer lion shows up, you don’t know when it will appear, and when it does, will it attack
-The cinematography of a South African safari is pretty top notch

The So So:

-There are times where the cgi of the lion looks great, and other times it looks weird, it wasn’t perfect but good enough
-The scene everybody was waiting for where Idris Elba fights a lion, it wasn’t like the bear attack in the film The Revenant, but it was still fun to watch Idris Elba punch a lion

What I Didn’t Like:

-The story and character development seemed forced in, I mean, anybody watching this movie just wants to see the lion wreck havoc, not family drama
-It is not logical either in certain scenes

Overall:

The story wasn’t great, but let’s face it, who watches this film for a story. Everybody wanted to see some thrilling lion action with Idris Elba. That’s it. I enjoyed how this film was thrilling and amazing with some excellent cinematography and unedited sequences. In the end, it may not be logical, but who cares, we want to see Idris Elba fight a lion, and that’s it!!!

Real Rating:

3.5 Poachers
