The School of Good and Evil may have good intentions, but the with all the makings of a tweenish story made it very juvenile!!!
What I Like:
-The premise of this story was interesting to keep me engaged for the first third of this film, the exposition in it was intriguing enough
-The acting was good enough as well, especially Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington
The So So:
-The special effects were hit and miss, some parts it looked really good, and other parts looked like cheap graphics made for the CW
What I Didn’t Like:
-In the end the story got too predictable and tweenish for my liking
-Also, the main characters and the students in general were just too snobby and unlikeable, and really not care in what happens to them
It had an interesting premise of a school that teaches kids to be good heroes or evil villains in the fairy tale world. With that said, with everything that happens afterward, it looked like a series you would watch in the CW. It was way too juvenile in their comedy and drama. Let alone it got too predictable. I just didn’t care for it, but it is on Netflix, so it can be a time waster to waste time to!!!
(Sidenote: Where the Crawdads Sing – This is a mystery tale with some coming of age and teen romance as well. I did enjoy the mystery part of this, however, it wasn’t their main focus. What it really focused on was the character, Kya, how she grows up living by herself, and her relationships with a couple guys. I wish they focused more on the mystery, because I was more engaged in that story more than anything else. Regardless, it is a decent watch!!!
