The Creator

The Creator is graphically great, but this sci-fi film follows way too many tropes!!!

What I Like:

-When it comes to their action and CGI, it was a marvel to see, the blend of practical and special effects seemed flawless
-The acting was great too, most notably John David Washington, he showed a lot of great emotion during his endeavor with this film, and his character can be tragically touching to watch and relate
-The sound editing made it flow authentically

The So So:

-For a little bit, their transitions from the past to present can be a little confusing, but once you get used to it, it can get less distracting

What I Didn’t Like:

-If you are a fan of sci-fi films, you have to be disappointed with the same cliched old story (maybe not, but at least for me), it was predictable to a T, the journey may be good to watch, but you know what is going to happen which made it less and less thrilling and effective

Overall:

I give credit for an awesome sci-fi, droids vs humans, war spectacle it puts up. That alone makes it worth it to watch on IMAX. With that being said, the story is really the same old story. The tropes they do makes it very predictable from the start. When it is predictable, it loses its effectiveness and thrills that make it worthwhile. Yes it is good for the eye, but not for the thrill. At the very least, John David Washington’s acting can carry it to make it an emotional watch at the very least!!!
