Blade Runner had its cool moments with tremendous creativity on their sets, however, the story is too weird and such a long running time that it dragged more than it should!!!
Rating: 3 Stars
What I Like:
-The set designs for this film was awesome, I give credit to directer Denis Villeneuve for his creativity on this film
-Acting by Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto and even the old Harrison Ford was a joy to watch
-When there are action scenes, it was entertaining enough
The So So:
-The story took a turn for the weirdness, it really made this franchise truly sci-fi, which I enjoyed the first film for it’s grounded type of sci-fi story, but now, all the replicants can walk free and apparently, reproduce, I have to say, it was interesting, but he weirdness took me out of it
What I Didn’t Like:
-It had a almost three hour run time, and boy did I feel it, I guess the neo-noir style was a way bit too much for my liking
Overall:
As I said before, I liked the original Blade Runner for its grounded type of sci-fi film, but this Blade Runner sequel was on steroids for very weird sci-fi story. The big time fans will probably like it, but for me, it was too long, weird, and at times, boring. With that said, I give kudos to the direction of Villeneuve who is known for his creativity, and the acting that really made this film watchable for me!!!
