The Equalizer 2 you get more of the same which is not a bad thing, only the story was just a little convoluted!!!
Rating: 4 Stars
What I Like:
-I enjoyed the fight scenes, and the final action scene, they were thrilling and great for the enthusiasts of gratuitous violence
-The acting from Denzel Washington is superb as always
-I give credit to director Antoine Fuqua and its cinematography of showing the city of Boston and how diverse it is with the city’s culture
The So So:
-I’m a big fan of the first movie, and for this sequel you get more of the same, the action pack film where the protagonist is a nice gentleman, but has a real gangster side to him, personally I don’t mind that because that is what you expect, but don’t expect it to be better than its predecessor
-The story is a little convoluted with a lot of sub plots that can be hard to follow, however, for the most part, it ties up in the end for better or worse
What I Didn’t Like:
-The major twist I saw coming almost instantly
Overall:
If you are a fan of the first movie, then you will like this sequel as well. You get more of the same type of story and characterization which is a good thing. Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua made another thrilling and fun action movie for all of us to enjoy. Yes the story is a small step back, but the action does make up for it!!!

(Sidenote: Chappaquiddick- This film about the Chappaquiddick scandal involving Ted Kennedy is a very interesting watch. I liked how things went down with the whole cover up methods, even though some scenes can drag a lot. I really enjoyed the acting of Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy, seeing the remorse and emotion he gives in not only dealing with the scandal, but with his father as well. It is a good watch!!!
