Space Jam: A New Legacy

Space Jam A New Legacy Theatrical Poster.jpg

Space Jam: A New Legacy may be too outrageous, may be derivative, and may lack total sense, but did I have fun watching it, you darn right I did!!!

Real Rating: 3.5 Speedy Gonzales’s

What I Like:

-It did bring in a little nostalgia to a movie I loved as a kid, which I can appreciate, plus with all the surprise cameos and other themed scenes did make it fun and entertaining for me
-Don Cheadle playing the villain, Al G. Rhythm, was great, you can tell that Cheadle was having fun in this role, and really gave it his best
-The 3D animation of the game was pretty cool to watch
-It does have its funny moments which made me laugh out loud big time

The So So:

-It pretty much followed the same formula as the first one, but it gave me nostalgia, it was so much more outrageous than its predecessor, but it was entertaining, it lacked a total sense of sense, but seriously, who watches Space Jam for things to make sense, the craziness is what makes it fun, and that is what it brings out, at least the story brought more of an emotional impact this time around
-Is this a reason for Warner Brothers Studios to showcase all of their stuff in one sitting, yes, but at least it was a creative way of doing it

What I Didn’t Like

– Lebron James’ acting was not good, especially his voice acting, and he definitely had a lot more lines than Michael Jordan
-Without spoiling it, there was a character that was there, but it really gave no huge role, but just being there, and this character needed justice

Overall:

This is just like the first Space Jam movie, but only on the most expensive steroids you can find in Eastern Europe. There is a lot of things you can criticize as a movie, but just like the first movie, you don’t care. Why? Because it was fun and entertaining to watch. I’m personally glad to see the Looney Tunes back which is a big part of my childhood. My love for the game of basketball will always keep me happy in any theme for a movie. The surprises and cameos makes it enjoyable, even for adults. Lastly, it was nostalgic for me. For all its flaws this time around, they are still fun flaws, and I don’t care what anybody says, I enjoyed it!!!
